Number of vSphere 7.0 Standard license required

Hi All,

We wish to install ESXi 7.0 on a server we bought. From the VMware vSphere pricing whitepaper, it appears  ESXi 7 is license per processor.

The Whitepaper states that each per-processor license will cover CPUs with up to 32 physical cores. If the CPU has more than 32 cores, additional CPU licenses are required.

Our server processor spec is "2X HPE DL360 GEN10 4214R 12 Cores".

We intend to buy VMware vSphere Standard production license with a 3-Year Support Term. Could someone advise if we need two licenses or one?

Thank you.

If you have 2 physical processors (such as the 4214R) you will need 2 licenses.
