Not able to get the control of the ESX server

Hi,

I have installed ESX4 in HP ML350 server and now when I am trying to check from the VI client I am noyt getting the console of the ESX server

When I am pinging then RTO is coming. When I have checked in the ESX configuration then the gateway is showing 0.0.0.0.

When I am trying to change the gateway then also after refresing the same gateway is showing(0.0.0.0).

Please suggest.

If you are trying to open Console<command line> of ESX server itself using VI client then VI client doesn't have that option at all. You can set the gateway using esxcfg-route command after ssh to the ESX server. The syntax will be esxcfg-route < your gateway ip>.

Thanks,

Samir

By mistake I was typing the wrong netmask in the configuration. So always the gateway goes to 0.0.0.0.

After correcting the netmask the problem is resolved.

Thankyou
