Not able to find ifcfg-vswif0 file in an ESX 4.0 Host

Hi All,

Iam using an ESX 4.0 Host. Previously my host was using an ip consumed from DHCP. I tried edditing the "ifcfg-vswif0" file at the location /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts. I changed the BootProto to "static" fom "DHCP". I then rebooted the server, after which the file "ifcfg-vswif0" was missing from the location /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts.

Can some one please tell me what it is???

Regards,

Nihad

Hi,

One more suggetion from my side,if you lost ifcfg-vswif0 file than you can creat the new service console by using the following syntax

esxcfg-vswif –a vswif0 –i xx.xx.xx.x –n xxx.xxx.xxx.xx –p "Service Console"
