I recently updated to the latest version of 6.7, (Updated) DellEMC-ESXi-6.7U3-17167734-A08 (Dell). Now I notice something odd when i try and add an existing hard disk. I get the image below and when I try and I click save nothing happens. I must cancel it.
To further understand this I tried the same thing on different VM's (Linux and Windows), different storage controllers (SAS and SATA), different VM hardware versions (6.7 and 6.7U2), and different browsers (Chrome and Internet Explorer), and even on another R720 with the same ESXi version and all get the same results of this odd looking image above that will not save.
This worked fine on the older version of 6.7, and I am not sure how to resolve this issue. My only other thought is to edit the VM file manually which I am not great at, but will probably be going that route until I know a better solution.
Something also interesting about trying to create a new VM and add existing disk from that menu. It lets me through and to finish, but then gives me the below error. I look and find no error in the browser or event list to help explain why...
Not sure what's causing it, but it may be worth trying to do this with another browser, or trying it again after deleting the browser cache.

That was my thought too. i tried on two different computer web browsers with chrome and internet explorer. I just tried it on edge now too.
Hello.
I recommend you to upgrade to the latest available level (Build 20497097).

Another way would be to upgrade the Host client (vSphere web client) on the ESXi and check if the problem is still present
.I have had several problems with browsers and host client on ESXi hosts with 6.7.
I just double checked and looks like I am on the latest version. It has me wondering about downgrading back a few versions, but I have not done much research on that yet. My first post above probably made it look like I had an old version, but that is what ESXi shows me from the original Dell image. I installed that 6.7 image and then recently updated to the latest version.
I did end up manually editing the vmx file to add the existing SATA drive I had and it worked fine. Just would get pretty annoying to do it that way each time.
After taking another look at the initial screenshot, I see that you are trying to add a snapshot, which AFAIK has never worked.
A workaround could be to add an additional (dummy) virtual disk, then edit the VM's .vmx file to replace the .vmdk name, and finally reload the VM (see https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1026043). Please note that these steps require the VM to be powered off.
You may also want to cleanup the VM's snapshot after that, so that you don't run into issues later on.

That is a really good point. Sorry about that screen shot, it was just a quick example I threw up and I see now I was too quick running through it.
I have even tried simply adding a new hard disk, saving it, then removing it without deleting and then trying to add it back. I get the same results of not being able to save and it not showing things correctly. Here is a better screen shot.
I confirm: in 6.7.U3 (20497097) there is no way to add an existing disk from the web UI.
