After I upgraded from vsphere 5.0 to vsphere 5.0 update 1 I've noticed that none of the host are logging any performance data after the date I upgraded. I can still see past data for dates before the upgrade but nothing after the upgrade. Real-time performance charts works but nothing under past day and past week, past month only shows up to the date I upgraded. I found vmware kb1030819 but it's for esx 4.1 but I went ahead and tried recreating the table per the kb, but still no data. Anyone got any ideas?
Yes the SQL agent is running and according to sql job history the rollup jobs are completing successfully. I went ahead and deleted and recreated the rollup jobs per kb1004382 and I'll wait till Monday to see if any history is captured over the weekend.
Hi,
i am not sure. I'm currently not at office bit I have the same issue and I guess I have do the following.
check the account of your apache service on vcenter. Run it with a domain account and local admin permission.
Frank
Troy,
That didn't work. I noticed that only the 'Datastore' and 'Disk' performance charts has no data for either of the past day, past week, past month(except before the upgrade) and past year(also except before the upgrade). I have data for all of the other charts (ie. cpu, memory, network, power, etc..). Are there separate set of rollup jobs for disk and datastore?
Frank,
I don't have a 'apache service' in my vcenter.
Sorry,
I guess i am wrong.

Hi,
check this KB
Frank
Frank,
Although I am not getting those error messages as in the kb2011523 I went and delete and recreated the temptables per kb.
Paul1,
I am not using either storage drs or sioc but I also changed the level mapping per kb2009532.
I will wait a couple of days and see if any performance data shows up.
I also opened a SR with VMware support and see what they have to say.
Thanks.
Any progress on this one - we seem to be suffering the same issue
just to add -- all the rollup jobs are succeeding - realtime data is available - no historical data is available after the upgrade. The KB article relating to stats collection level seems to suggest that no realtime data will be available ONLY historical - which is the opposite of what we see,,,
It looks like the stats rollup jobs are skipping the disk stats....
I've been working with VMware support for several weeks now and they still can't figure it out yet. They had me do all the same KB articles that I had already tried. They say they are escalating to the next level engineers so we'll see what they come up with but for now no resolution.
Do you have an sr number I could tie my case to?
SR# 12165394804
Great I will let you know if I get anywhere...
This was so long ago. I think I had to truncate all the performance tables and start from scratch. I am heading out of the office now, but, I can look tomorrow to see. In the meantime search the KB’s for truncate performance

Hi,
We have the same issue. However, if we use the "Overview" option under the Performance tab, then we are able to see the data. As soon as we use the "Advanced" option to pull data for the same time period then no data is shown. See attached.
This is more than likely a bug, but for now a workaround would be great.
Kenny
Hi Simon,
I am facing the same issue with my V center however it happens with one ESXi host only, could you help me with what stats you have changed to resolve the issue?
The impact to me was for all datastores - was not host related. Just followed the KB article to change the stats collection rate. And for interest two days later we turned it off again as it was killing our database!!!
