No jumbo frames on free ESXi 4.1?

Hi,

I'm testing a Dell R710 connected to a Dell MD3200i iSCSI SAN and according to all the documentation I can find I'm out of luck if I want jumbo frames because it has to be configured using the CLI tool and that tool is not usable without buying a license. Is that correct, that I need at least the Essentials package to use CLI and therefore jumbo frames?

Thanks

It's the API, vCLI, ... which is limited to read-only in the free edition. However, you can login to the console (or ssh) directly to run the necessary commands.

Thanks, I was able to enable SSH using info from this article:

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=101791...

Then logged in via SSH and was able to get my 8 iSCSI paths with 9000 MTU configured according to the Dell PowerVault MD32xxi eployment Guide for VMware ESX4.1
