No Network Adapter

Hello,

I am trying to install the VMware ESXi 5.0 Update 1(CD ISO), to the new m/c but its not getting installed.

Well it gave the below error:

"No Network Adapters"

No network adapters were detected, either no n/w adapters are physically connected to the system, or a suitable driver could not be located.

Can any one please tell me it asking exactly .

Regards

Seema

Given the error is seems that the network card plugged in the hardware is not been able to get detected by the ESXi installer. Make sure that the Network card is on HCL. If this is a machine from Dell , HP or IBM get the customized image from there website.

As stated before this message means that no VMware supported NIC was found.

What server/motherboard and network controller are you trying to use?

You may be lucky and find a community developed driver for your NIC at http://www.vm-help.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=24
