New ESXi 7.0.3 installation - bootbank is pointing to tmp

We have 2 new Dell T440 servers that we've installed ESXi 7.0.3 (Dell's custom version) on.  In both cases, when the server reboots it loses its network configuration (reverts from a static IP to trying to get a DHCP address).  it also unregisters all the VMs, and acts as if it was a firstboot (asks about customer improvement)

I noticed that bootbank is pointing to /tmp.

Attempting to follow the knowledge base article here: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2149444 but it doesn't work.

Hi,

Could you tell me which version's iso did you use for the installation?

I found there are two different "vSphere 7 Update 3" from Dell Technologies as below.

1. Download it from Dell Technologies Support site directly.

2. Download it from VMware site forwarded from Dell Technologies support site.

Please retry installation using another one. The A03 and A05 is Dell original version numbering for customized ISO.

We downloaded the Dell version direct from VMWare - didn't go through the Dell site and it was A05.  I'm downloading A03 from Dell's site and we will give that one a try.

Any idea what the differences are between them?
