Hi all,

I want to install vmware esxi on a machine(desktop) with following specification:

RAM:8 GB

Processor: intel(R)core i5-2400 cpu@3.10 GHz

Network adapter: 1 x 1GB                      Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection

Hard Disk: 500 GB

Operating System: Windows 7

I just wanted to know which ESXi version met the above described specification?

which Esxi version should i choose to install?

If you want to install the Hypervisor directly I advise you to check http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/esx40_whitebox_HCL.php Otherwise you can do it using VMware Workstation.

You can check for whitebox implementations (use Google)

Or install an ESXi version on a USB device and boot from it. http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102065.... Then you can see if your card works without erasing your system.
