I am installing ESXI 5.5.0 onto a HP HPE-170t for testing purposes and for some reason the network adapters are not being detected.. I have tried both the basic ESXI 5.5 ISO and then the customized HP image for ESXI 5.5 and both do not detect the network adapters.
I need this solved asap.
Any thoughts or recommendations or possible solutions?
Evening,
Since the HPE-170t is not on the HCL there is no easy way to solve this. I think you have two options:
1. Install a NIC that is on the HCL and install 5.5
2. Write / locate a driver for your nics and install it into a custom ESXi image. Then install ESXi
Sorry I don't have better news... you could also run Vmware workstation on this machine and run ESXi as a virtual machine... that's my way around the HCL.
Thanks,
J

Your welcome. I wish I had a better answer. I have had to move to workstation on all my ESXi implementations now. It sucks but it's the only thing that works with the HCL. You might want to mark it as answered.
Thanks,
