Net config backup - possible?

Hi guys,

On a production ESX host (not ESXi) we need to backup the network config so as to make our changes tomorrow with a heart rate of less than 150.

I just read that vicfg-cfgbackup.pl is only possible on ESXi, so it won't help me.

Is there another way?? Are there any files I can backup and safely restore if the need should arise, so as to re-enable the current config?

I don't want to find myself locked out of a production host because of a mistake...

Thanks

George

I see on the net that there is (or used to be) a command like this

netsh interface dump > file.txt

...but on my host (v4.1) there is no netsh command

You can use those command

esxcfg-vswitch -l

esxcfg-vmknic -l

PS: thread moved to ESX area
