Need to deploy oracle on vmware ESXi 5.1

Hi guys,

I need your help urgently. I am planning to deploy oracle 10 g database server on vmware esxi 5.1. I would like to separate data, index and data dictionary in order to get much performance in term of reading and writing.which type of disk provisionning is the most suitable for oracle databases? What is the best practice that vmware recommends?

Any idea is welcome

Thank you in advance

You can deploy that in vmware about the disk I would suggest you should use thick egar zero for disk provision.

If you find any answer useful. please mark the answer as correct or helpful.

The optimal choice can be using Eager zeroed thick provisioning. Add 3,4 virtual disk to your VM so that you can split the partitions from virtual disk prospective as well. If high number of IOPS is the requirement choose PVSCSI controller for your data disk.
