Need to convert VM Workstation 16 to ESXi 6.5 U3

Hello,

is it possible to convert a Workstation 16 VM to an ESXi 6.5 U3? I used VMware Converter Standalone without success because I got an "Invalid configuration for device '2'" error message. I know there is a section dedicated to this tool, but I already wanted to know if what I want to do is possible and if you have any advice for me.

Show your vmdks please - need to know the type - number of snapshots and so on.

Hi sir, thank you for your answer but sorry i don't understand what you want, my vmdk file is about 300GB, what do you want to know exactly?

I want to know wether it is type:
- one piece preallocated
- split preallocated
- growing one piece
- split growing

If it comes with a separate descriptor-vmdk - post it.

In case you upload the vmdk as it is - you must import it with vmkfstools.

vmkfstools -i workstation-type.vmdk esxi-type.vmdk
Then adjust the path in the vmx-file.
