I'm trying to install ESXI 4.1 on an HP Proliant DL380 G5 (appears on the HCL), and am getting a message saying

       NOT_IMPLEMENTED bora/vmkernel/hardware/ioapic.c:607

It also has a WARNING in the debugger log saying IOAPIC has no pins.. Screenshot below.

This appears after the scheduler step on the yellow screen.

We've already setup another server, of exactly the same spec and configuration, successfully.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how this issue can be resolved ?

We've upgraded the BIOS on this server to the latest version.

Hi Idle-jam,

I did see that, but ACPI is enabled in the BIOS (as it is on the other, successfully working, server). In the log, in the local debugger, it says various things about reading from APCI, and using it for CPU settings, and so on.

Will take some screenshots of the debugger and upload them.

Ok, I've resolved this issue on our server.

The issue was caused by the memory not being setup in the correct locations. For this server (DL380 G5) the chips need to have the same size in each bank.

Having relocated the chips, and restarted the install, all is working well.
