NO CD/DVD Available in Virtual Machine

I have ESXi 5.5 installed but I am unable to mount CD/DVD, it tells me that it is supported. I believe it is down to not have IDE or SCSI device installed.

I am running a SUSE Linux server, how do I get it to show as I need to boot from an ISO file to expand a partition.

John.

I found out what is the issue was. The customer had been messing about with the hardware and had disconnected the DVD player. Once connected I was able to get the CD/DVD to launch from ISO files Smiley Happy

If the VM didn't have one during the time of installation, just add a new device, and select CD-ROM.  If you do not have a IDE controller in your VM it should add once by default as it requires it.

Hope this has helped

Hi

Welcome to communities.

Instead of adding cd\dvd if you have IOS just change boot from ISO .
