We are trying to use snap protect for our VMware backups. Everything works as expected until you try and mount the flex clone up to the ESXi server that will be used for indexing and streaming the backup to tape. The issue is that snap protect appends a suffix onto the flex clone that pushes the volume label name over 42 characters which causes the mount request to fail. I know the easy answer is to create a new datastore with a shorter label, however we have a couple hundred servers on these volumes. Is there anyway to up the character maximum from 42 characters?
