NETFLOW VLAN TAGGING?

Hello,

I'm trying to setup Netflow on a dvSwitches which have VLAN configured on all Portgroup.

I had previously tested the functionality on my lab and everything works well. the only difference between the lab & prod was VLAN.

I've checked all configuration setting regarding "enabling netflow" on production Platform.

What I've notice :
Native VLAN on Lab (no vlan)
Vlan tagged on production.

  • Same ESXi version
  • Same dvSwitches version
  • Same sFlow IPFLIX virtual machine (same version as well)

I've tested all known ports (2055 / 4739 / 9995 / 9996)

I've tested with IP for dvswitches and without

I've tested also with domain ID, with no success.

No flows are comming to the ethernet interface of the Netflow listener which is located into VLAN TAGGED Portgroups

Flows are comming to the ethernet interface of the Netflow listener which is NOT located into VLAN TAGGED Portgroups but only frame within the same subnet (nothing comes from other Portgroup)

Anyone can help with this topic?

Hello,

I've moved the Netflow VM to Native VLAN. Solved this issue.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Jacques
