Multiple NICs but not for redundancy

We are in a special HW-situation with a ESXi server having enough nics for all external connections. We want to save space, energy etc by not use an external physical switch. We will use point to point cables to the very few external devices. Problem is that some devices should be on the same ip-subnet and also communicate with the same vm in the host. Is there a way to configure a vSwitch for this, two or more physical nics on same vSwitch but not for redundancy purpose? There is no need for the external devices to communicate to each other, they just communicate with the vm in the host

I very much doubt this would work, pretty sure it is not supported either as we don't do routing that way either.

Just guessing....

You can create multiple VM Portgroups on your vSS and configure the Failover (Single Active/All other Non Used) and vmnic assignment as needed on that Portgroup.

Not sure where your concept will break but Mr. Murphy will find a way 🙂
