vCenter 5.5 firewall shows that port 161/UDP is enabled for SNMP Server. Does port 162 require enabling to allow the host to be monitored also using SNMP applications like SolarWinds NPM?

The port 162 is used only for SNMP traps, from Esxi hosts to supervision servers.
You can also monitore the ESXI using Centreon CLI API.
