Monitor Hardware -> No sensor data available

I've got ESXI 6.5 running without any issues, however when I go to the Monitor -> Hardware -> Sensors, it says No sensor data available.

I'm fairly confident this is related to the motherboard/chip combination that I'm running. I'm looking to see what driver I need to load to make this work.

Motherboard: MSI Z370 SLI PLUS LGA 1151 (8th Gen CPUOnly) Intel Z370

Chipset: Intel - Core i7-8700 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor

Any thoughts?

Adrian

Hi Adrian

and welcome to the forums!

The system that you are using is probably not on the VMware HCL (VMware Compatibility Guide - System Search ).

It is the hardware vendor's responsibility to provide a so-called "CIM Provider" software package which enables ESXi to monitor hardware health using CIM sensors data.

It doesn't look like such a package is available for MSI system boards, so you won't be able to monitor hardware health with ESXi on this system.

P.S.: Moved thread to forum ESXi
