Migration to vDS

After spending some time searching, I am not finding a clear paper on migrating to vDS, or those that I found have results that do not match my own

The system is in production, and running four ESXi 4.0 Hosts in a Cluster, HA and DRS not enabled, all using Standard Switchs. I followed the instrutures on a white paper and created the vDS, along with the port groups for my VLANS; 101 VM Network, 102 IP Storage, 103 Managment, 104 vMotion, and 199 DMZ. However, when I hit the step to add hosts there is nothing to select, same for the "Migrate Virtual Machine" option. Even under Host > Config > Networking there is no option for the vDS that I setup.

What step am I missing in order to migrate into this vDS? Secondly, does this change make sense? The goal is to keep the vMotion traffic on the BladeServer, and to allow for easier control of getting VMs onto the correct VLAN over a shared interface.

Thanks,

D
