Migration from ESXi 3.5 to ESXi 4 (ISCSI Storage)

Hey everyone !

I want to migrate from ESXi 3.5 to ESXi 4. But there is one question I can't answer by myself.

I use an ISCSI Storage, which is formatted with "VMFS 3.31".

Is it Possible to use this ISCSI Storage simultaneous from both systems, also a ESXI 3.5 and a ESXI 4 Hostsystem ?

Has someone experience in this context ?

Greeting from Germany and many thanks,

Kay

Welcome to the forums - Yes you can - the high level migration plan is upgrade vceneter (it can manage both ESX 4 and ESX 3.5 hosts) -> upgrade the ESX Hosts (they can coexist in the same clusters and datacenters) -> then upgrade the virtual machines virtual hardware and VMware tools -
