Migrating boot lun for ESXi to another storage

Hello! The question is in topic. Are there ways to migrate boot lun from one storage to another? We are using both AMS 2500.

Honestly, I never did that, but here’s my two pence worth.

You can try to clone the LUN using a solution from your storage provider. Then present the cloned LUN instead of the old one to the ESX box.

Otherwise, you can backup you ESXi configuration, present the new LUN to your server, install a new ESXi and restore its configuration.

I’ve done it a couple times, it’s not really recommended imho. I’ve wrote about my experiences in this article. I would suggest that you try it yourself.
