Migrate vCenter to a cluster from a non-cluster member

Working on a new environment and I'm sorta stuck with something here. I have 3 hosts, 2 are new hardware (R620) and 1 is older (1950). The 1950 was introduced today, the R620s have been around 2 weeks now.

So now that the 1950 is in the mix I created a new EVC cluster limited to Penryn, the 1950 and one R620 are in the cluster. I want the other R620 in the cluster BUT my vCenter is running on it. Can't migrate the vCenter to the cluster memebers since it's exposed to CPU extensions beyond the Penryn limit of the cluster....

Kinda lost on what I can do here?! Is there a 'shutdown guest, migrate to X host, boot guest' type function I can use?

Assuming you use shared storage accessible from all hosts, power off the vCenter Server VM, remove it from the current host's inventory by connecting to the host directly (using the vSphere client), then connect to the "target" host, add the vCenter Server back to the inventory and power it on.

Sounds right, just one question. To add it back to the inventory on the target host, what's the process? create a new vm and use the existing disks/files?

To add a VM back into the inventory, browse the datastore and locate the folder where you VM is residing and right click .VMX file and add it to inventory. That should do it.

Thanks guy, very helpfull. Took all of 5 minutes and the last host is in my cluster with my vCenter running.
