Issue:
I got some VMs with a guest OS Windows 2003 Server with 2 vCpu and 4GB RAM, 1 Vol C: 50GB and 1 NIC.
This VMs are running on a vSphere 4.1 HA & DRS Cluster with 3 Hosts.
On this VM's on the C volume in the file boot.ini the /3GB Switch is ON since serveral years WITHOUT any issue.
After I recently upgraded my ESX hosts from 4.0 to 4.1 (260247) and upgraded the VMTOOLS on the affected VMs,
I got memory corruption on the above deVMs above.
The memory corruption disappears, if I remove as a workaround the /3GB Switch in the Windws boot.in file.
Has anybody any ideas on this strange behavior?
Infrastructure:
Hosts: 3 HP DL385 G5p 2 cpu's QC & 64GB RAM
Vcenter: 1 HP DL360g6 with WIndows 2003 x64 4GB RAM etc.
