Maximum reservation for a vm?

I am working on a nested host with 2 cpu's of 2 Ghz, and  4 GB of memory.

I have just one vm running on this host.

The maximum reservation that I am able to give my vm is CPU reservation = 2820 Mhz

I want to set the cpu reservation to 3000 Mhz.

how can i do that?

You have two VMs currently and you have a 4800MHz of CPU power for all them to share. and do not forget about ESXi...

that means you have a total of three devices  running. All three of those things are trying to use a portion of the total 4800MHz that's available.

Just this in that way, check if there are option on which you can over provisioning options.

Hello,

Do you have any other existing reservations on this host?

Did you set up any resource pool?

Usually, the limitation on a reservation is based on the current host or resource pool the VM is in.

i know that reservation depend on the limit of a vm,but I am also notable to set limit also as more than 2820 Mhz
