Max VMs per LUN?

I just ran RVTools against our VMware environment and one of the messages was that there are over 16 VMs on a LUN. We're running vSphere with a Clariion CX-3 array. Is 16 still the max recommended or has that number gone up? Is there VMware documentation on this?
