Managing ESXi 4.

Hi,

I've installed ESXi4 here and i'm wondering if there was a way to manage it freely. It seems only to work with vSphere to manage the host but vSphere expires in 11 days and i was looking for a free alternative to manage my host (only have one so far).

Best regards,

Hi,

all you need is get the free esxi license from vmware esxi download page.

When you have the license key, you can add the license using the vSphere client and set the license in Configuration -> Licenses menu/tabs

vSphere Client is free. Evaluation license on ESXi host expires, not vSphere client, so you need to install serial for Free ESXi to host.

I get the following message when opening vSphere Client (see attached file).

I'm not sure i understand what's going on since ESXi4 is free and vSphere client seems to be free as well, refering to this link:

https://www.vmware.com/tryvmware/index.php?p=free-esxi&lp=1

Don't know why i'm getting the evaluation expire thing.
