'ManagedJetty' 9096 ERROR] [managedJetty, 232] Failed to parse C:/Program Files (x86)/VMware/Infrastructur e/Update Manager/jetty-vum-ssl.xml. Error: no element found

When i try to start update manager plugin it says;

There was an error connecting to VMware vSphere Update Manager -x.x.x.x:443
The reguest failed because of a connection failure. (Unable to Connect to the remote server)
Plug-in is unavailable for the following server(s): - x.x.x.x

When i check the logs;

[2014-01-20 14:17:25:947 'ManagedJetty' 9096 ERROR]  [managedJetty, 232] Failed to parse C:/Program Files (x86)/VMware/Infrastructur

e/Update Manager/jetty-vum-ssl.xml. Error: no element found

[2014-01-20 14:17:25:947 'VcIntegrity' 9096 ERROR]  [vcIntegrity, 480] Error starting Process monitor: no element found

Any thoughts ?

Thanks for reply. I don't have outofmemory messages. so  this kb is not a solution i think.

Agreed, if complete error message is not coming, KB can not solve the issue.... hope someone will have other solution

I passed by the same issue and I solved substituing the file jetty-vum-ssl.xml (that was crashed by some reason) by jetty-vim.xml (I just copied the jetty-vim.xml and deleted jetty-vum-ssl.xml).

For some reason the jetty-vum-ssl.xml crashed as VUM log said

"[2014-08-07 11:31:23:782 'ProcessMonitor' 2736 INFO]  [processMonitor, 472] Starting managed process java.exe

[2014-08-07 11:31:23:902 'ManagedJetty' 2736 ERROR]  [managedJetty, 232] Failed to parse C:/Program Files (x86)/VMware/Infrastructure/Update Manager/jetty-vum-ssl.xml. Error: not well-formed (invalid token)

[2014-08-07 11:31:23:902 'VcIntegrity' 2736 ERROR]  [vcIntegrity, 480] Error starting Process monitor: not well-formed (invalid token)"
