Make SVGA display adapter as secondary adapter - possible?

Hi

I have a Windows 8.1 VM configured with two display adapters (vmware SVGA & Nvidia Quadro K6000).

The problem is that any software that I install which makes use of CUDA (Nvidia gpu decoding capabilities) does not see the Nvidia card as the default display adapter and hence the CUDA feature is disabled.

Is there a way to completey remove/disable the SVGA display adapter so that Windows does not see it? Or is it possible to change the Display ID so that the SVGA adapter is "2" and Nvidia is "1" in the OS display properties?

Gaming using Nvidia is absolutely fine, it's only video conversion software which has issues.

Appreciate the advice.

Have you tried disabling the SVGA adapter in the Device Manager?

Yes, tried disabling SVGA. I guess the issue is that the display is still present and has an enumerated ID in the registry. Video conversion software still see the adapter as being present even though it is disabled.
