MAC Address of vmnic

Hello,

I did an ifconfig to collect the mac addresses of my physical NIC. I send these MAC addresses to our network team and ask them to told me the connect ports on the cisco switch.

But they can’t see any of these MAC addresses, only the MAC address from the VM’s. These Cisco Switch port a configured as trunk ports.

Is there a way to find the vmnic MAC address on the cisco switch?

Thanks, Sven

The host's MAC addresses are never used - you will only ever see VM's (and service console/vmk) mac addresses, never the physical ones.
