MAC Address Variation

Hi Team,

I am quite new to the technology of VMware. I would appreciate any feedback.

I came across a situation where i found that the Vsphere was showing a different MAC address for the NICs from whats physically found. I guess thats the reason why it says VNics.

The Above screenshot shows CIMC (of a Cisco UCS server) on the right the VMware Client of the same host.

Q1) why is there a variation?

Q2) How can i find the real MAC address on the Vshpere Client using GUI or CLI?

Are you sure you have the same host selected?  On the left vmnic0 and 1 are connected.  On the right, vmnic2 is showing something for Observed IP Ranges which suggests that it is plugged in.
