Lost connection to dvSwitch

Hi,

I did some labs with distributed switches and I missconfigured the dvSwitch on the VC and lost connection to the ESX host. How can I troubleshoot the connection on the host.

If I use esxcfg-vswitch -l I can see the switch and the uplinks. What is the best thing to do to reconnect the host to vCenter, create a standard vSwitch and connect Service Console on the host or what?

A similar situation happend on my ESX hosts when I update the labels of the DvUplinks, both my hosts got disconnected from Virtual Center and became unreachable.

I Logged into the ILO console and say that both had lost the Service Console port under DvPortGroups.

Since the CLI commands for dvswitch are complexe, and I was lucky to have a spare nic I manually configured that spare NIC to be the new Service Console. I

don't know if this is a bug? But all our ESX hosts will keep an old vistual switch for console access.

Basically I followed the following instructions to rebuild my service console. Thanks Planetvm!
