Logging into Host managed by vCenter

I have several ESXi5.0 hosts and I would like to set up a user to perform nagios checks on the hosts.  I have set up a new AD users and given them Administrator permissions, then added that user in vCenter "Permissions"  The user can log into the vCenter server but not into the individual hosts. I have also logged into the Host as root and tried to add a user for nagios to the Local users & Groups tab but it still denies that user login.

How can I set up a read only user to log into the host machines that are managed by vCenter for nagios checks?

I've done the steps in what that blogger suggested but it still does not allow me to log directly into the host with those credentials, only into the vCenter.  I need to have this read-only user be able to log directly into the ESXi hosts.
