Log retention period of vCenter and ESXi Logs

For how many days vCenter and ESXi logs are retained and what is their log file max size by detault as i am confused because of this statement given here vCenter Server Logs

As in my environement i have more number of logs not just 10.

i checked this before as well but there it again says 10 logs but in my vcenter we have total approx 25 logs and we are using default settings without any modification.

Using the KB i have changed the logs to <maxFileNum>25</maxFileNum>  in vpxd.cfg & enable trivia log in vc to verify whether it is happening properly,I could see that 25 (vpxd.log) files were created.

I did check this earlier today in vCenter 5.5 - vpxd.conf file, it's mentioned as 30 in there.

that's why we were able to see more log files.

C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\vpxd.conf

Is there any vmware document that states this as even i have seen this in one of the config file before.
