Log VM's

Oi galera,

Gostaria de saber onde posso pegar um log mais detalhado das minhas VM's atráves de linha de comando ou do vsphere Cliente ou se existe algum plug-in que faça isso?

Obrigado galera!

Hi guys,

I wonder where I can get a more detailed log of my VM's via the command line or the vSphere Client or if there is a plugin that does this?

Thank you guys!

we can see the detailed logs related to a VM in vmware.log.

To see the vmware.log we have to login to the host through SSH or ESXi shell.

the following KB will help you in getting the access to the host.

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=101791...

once you connected to the host, you can see the logs at /vmfs/<datastore>/<vm folder>/

From command line,

Does cat /vmfs/volumes/<VMdatastore>/VM/vmware.log provide you your required logging?

From vSphere:

Click on File-Export system logs-Uncheck all-check virtual machines-logs provide you your required logs?
