Log File Question relating to Snapshots

Hi,

Does anyone know which ESXi 4.1 log file I would look in to find information about how long a VM is "stunned" for at the begininng of a snapshot and also how long at the end when doing the snapshot removal.

thanks,

John

vmware.log file in the same directory of the VMX would have that info.

Cheers for that, how do I view the vmware.log file as you cannot access it from the datastore browser as it is locked

Either export a log bundle using the GUI, or use SSH tech support mode to look at the file with 'vi' or 'less'.

I vmotioned the VM which created another vmware.log file so I could then copy the old one to the local PC. Not as easy to find the information as in the ESX logs but you can find it as per below

Jul 16 13:16:07.961: vmx| Checkpoint_Unstun: vm stopped for 9993703

This means the VM was "stunned" for 9 seconds
