How do you Limit the Software and Services Running in the Service Console in ESXi 4.0?

Hello.

There is no Service Console in ESXi, and there aren't really many apps for ESXi either. Policy and/or limited access is the best way to limit these things.

Hello.

There is no Service Console in ESXi, and there aren't really many apps for ESXi either. Policy and/or limited access is the best way to limit these things.

As mentioned by vmroyale there is no SC within ESXi, just ESX... ESXi 4.1 has a better tech support mode than 4.0 did, which can be enabled. But, to get something akin to the SC offered in ESX, you need something like the vMA with ESXi...

ESXi, by default, is a much leaner product than ESX. Mostly due to there not being a SC with it... You still have all the management options available from a vCenter Server though...
