Lenovo Thinkstation p710 with ESXI

Hello everybody,

Someone has expiremented with installing VMware ESXI to their thinkstation P710, I am interested in buying one with the following hardware ... but first I want to make sure I can use it. I am aware that the device is not recommended according to the vmware compatibility guide.

1 x Xeon E5-2620 v4

4 x Ram 32 gb DDR4 2133 mhz

1 x Ssd 480gb

1 x hdd 2 tb

Nvidia Quadro M2000 4gb gddr5

I would greatly appreciate if you tell me about your experiences, if you have been installing any drivers manually, sata controller is not recognized, etc.

Regards.

Disk controller and NIC will need drivers.

Older versions of ESXi (up to and including 6.7) could also include vmklinux drivers but that capability was deprecated with 7.0.

Check here: https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=io

Thank you very much for the information, I will make the purchase more calm.

Do you think it can support the second cpu? (the motherboard support dual cpu).
