I have a LUN that's not reporting the correct usage after it's been filled up. It's a 2TB LUN which was created as a thick provision in command view (we're using HP SAN) and a thin provsion in vShpere client. The LUN says that there's 150gig free space in vSphere client and also in datastore broswer. Provsioned size reports corrected as this is a 2TB provisioned LUN but the usage says it's up to almost 2TB.
The LUN has obviously been filled up since it was created a few weeks ago. I checked the partition within Windows and it says there's 900gb free of space.
Should the usage on the LUN level itself down to whatever it's the real usage is? Or is there a command/tool to run to get a correct report? I'm not sure what would happen if the LUN hits maximum usage of 2TB even though it has 900gb free of space.
