So we have a new EMC VNX, which is my understanding that it will stripe a new LUN across all disks. So from an IOPs perspective, 4-2TB LUNs is the same as 1-8TB LUN (assuming same VM's in each config). Other than trying to get load balancing across both controllers, is there any other advice on LUN/Datastore sizing? We are currently using mostly 2TB (really 1.95) on the VMFS 3 LUNs, but with VMFS5 are wanting to have fewer larger LUNs/Datastores. I know the maximum is ~60TB now, but what is best practice?
