LACP support for NIC teaming?

Dear Experts,

We are running an ESXi 5.5.0 (2068190) Host and currently have 4 x "Broadcom BCM5716C NetXtreme II GigE NICs". These have been assinged to the same vSwitch0 where all of my VMs reside.

We have purchased 2 x "Intel Ethernet Server Adapter X520-2" 10G NICs and would like to set these up (preferrably as a team) to give our VMs the full 20G. The 2 NICs will be plugged into a D-Link DGS-1510-52X switch which supports LACP for port trunking (D-Link calls this link aggregation). Does VMware support LACP so that we can setup a trunk between the 2 NICs within the VMware host and the 2 ports on the D-Link switch. How best do we set this up?

Many thanks for your feedback.

Regards, Oliver

Hi there,

LACP support was brought in from 5.1 but is only possible with distributed virtual switches and must be configured via the vsphere web client.

This KB details how to set up a LAG, should help you out... kb.vmware.com/kb/2034277/

Hope this helps!
