Can it be determined exactly what version?   Likewise? How does that relate to MIT?

Thanks.

Likewise implementation of Kerberos is an internal component firmware ESXi (yes based on MIT).

The security model for updates ESXi does not assume installation of updatings on internal components (take a look at Advisories), but involves the installation of a whole new firmware. (f.e. VMware ESXi 4.1, Patch Release ESXi410-201104001 which fix MITKRB5-SA-2010-007)

So usually I don't use version numbers of the internal components, instead it I use version number for ESXi firmware (for the above patch 201104001 it is vmware-esx-firmware-4.1.0-1.6.381591)

You can detail information about ESXi firmware by command "esxcli software profile get"
