Issue with Thin Provisioned DISK

Hi vSphere Admins,

I have noticed that the thin provisioned Virtual disks are showing completely occupied the free space and I am facing low disk space on vmfs datastore.

Below is the setup,

I have 2 Standalone ESXi1 and ESXi2 hosts with version ESXi5.5 (Build 1623387) with local data stores.

2 VMs with same configuration (DISK, CPU and Memory)

Issue:- The VM1 which is hosted on ESXi2 is showing that the 1 TB Thin provisioned virtual DISK is completely filled up however from the guest OS (Linux OS) is showing only 200 GB is used.

On the ESXi1 the VM is running fine without any issues.

Note: Both ESXi hosts are using free Hypervisor (ESXi5.5). No snapshots for the VMs.

Let me know if you have any suggestions on this.

You can  safely use vmware converter V2V method to reclaim unused space on thin provisioned disk.

Or read this :https://connect.nimblestorage.com/mobile/mobile-access.jspa#jive-content?content=%2Fapi%2Fcore%2Fv3%...

Please try to use Storage vMotion or VMware Standalone converter
