Question is simple and clear. Is the HP P410 compatible with ESXi 5.5? I need it for some 3TB WD Red HDDs in a N54L
you can always check HCL List
http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=i
it looks like its supported
Just in case I wanted someone's real life experience with it.
no problem
i have customers with HP servers
i almost never check the raid controller but the server type to see if ESXi 5.5 is supported
only check raidcontroller if i need VSAN and passthrough option
so your save with the P410 if its just for install/upgrade vsphere esxi 5.5

We've had issues with the P410 Smart Array controllers in HP DL380's, the HPSA drivers were causing random PSOD. The version of the HPSA drivers need to be checked and updated if required. We're actually disabling the controller in the BIOS as we use an internal SD card for VMware.

The link in the KB article is for version 5.5.0.60-1OEM, however there is a 5.5.0.74-1OEM available from HP.
