Is ESXI 4.1 UEFI aware?

I would like to know if it is possible to install VMware ESXi 4.1 on Dell PowerEdge T610 but using UEFI (not BIOS)... I have seen some references on the net saying that ESXi 4.1 is UEFI aware OS ? while this post does not list it as UEFI aware...

I actually tried it and although installation goes through successfully, upon reboot I cannot "Add Boot Option" in UEFI boot options. It sees Hypervisor as an option but there is no valid boot files listed to select from...

So I am wondering is this is possible at all... Anyone?

P.S.

I apologize if this was posted in the wrong community, its my first post Smiley Happy

I wish it was UEFI aware ... Maybe in future versions...

Happy new year!

This doc (http://vmfaq.com/entry/70/) shows the steps to upgrade UEFI on IBM server.

I checked the manuals. No references to UEFI or EFI.

So I'm not 100% sure whether ESXi 4.1 is UEFI aware or it needs the old BIOS to boot from.

Cheers!

Does anyone know if the recently released ESXi 4.1 Update 1 supports UEFI?

Specifically I'm looking for UEFI support on Dell PowerEdge M610 blade servers.

Thanks.

At this point UEFI is not supported on Dell blades - see this for an example - http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?device_cat=server&device_id=3745,  but it is supported on some servers (IBM X5 - http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?device_cat=server&device_id=9597).
