    Hi,

I was trying to update the Windows 2003 R2 Std Edition(64) and could not complete the same because there was no network connection. I checked the Virtual machine settings and under Network Adapter "Conneted" option wasn't checked. When I checked the same, it generated an error stating "Invalid configuration for device 0".

What is the workaround for the above? Is it that I need to restart the service management for the ESXi 5 host? Or do I need to change the .vmx file values?

Yes, restart the management agents using the services.sh restart from the DCUI.

If this doesn't work, please post a copy of the VMX file so tat we can see what needs to be changed.

    HI . .

Thank you so much for your help . . I got an alternate way as well . .. First just remove the vnic for the oarticular VM under edit settings . . and then migrate it to a different host , , , after this add the vnic to the VM under edit settings , ,, and it worked :smileyhappy:
