I've spend far too long searching for information about these two familes of NIC -- The 82575 isn't even mentioned in the Intel quick reference http://download.intel.com/support/network/sb/intelethernetquickrefengrev2.pdf.
So, does anyone have any real-world experience with either of these two familes of NICs?
I am spec'ing an esxi 4.1 server with dual or quad nics. I have copper cabling.
I will be connecting to a freeNAS 8 storage server. I'd like to use NIC teaming to get the max possible throughput. The FreeNAS box will have SAS drives and an adaptec storage adapter, using ZFS to make a RAIDz pool
Is there anything to choose between these two families?
