Installing two evaluation instances of ESXI hosts using the same license.

Hello!!

I am testing vMotion using a single evaluation license of ESXi 55.  I have an ESXi01 host and adding a second host ESXi02 using the same license.  WHen adding the host, I receive the following error.

Datastore 'Local-esxi01 conflicts with an existing datastore in the datacenter that has the same

URL (ds:///vmfs/volumes/20394203842098340sf0), but is backed by different physical storage

Question:  DO I need an another evaluation and the reinstall the ESXi02 hosts and

then add it to the datastore?

Thanks

You are trying to add a host to Vcenter?  use the VI client to log directly into the host and try renaming the local datastore.  I recall it used to rename the datastore if it had same name with a (1) after it, but maybe that behavior changed.

Thank you for your assistance.  I renamed the datastore on ESXi02 as you suggested and that solved the problem.

Cool glad it worked, if it is answer you can mark it as answer.  It does seem to be a type of bug because it should be able to rename on join.
