Installing License Key from Kickstart or CLI

Hello,

I have a large number of vSphere ESXi 5.5 servers (300) that I frequently rebuild. I use a detailed kickstart file to configure my machines but I can't seem to get my license key to set in the install from either the KS or the command line. I'm currently using the following command..

vim-cmd vimsvc/license -set "0000-KEY--0000"

When I run this command, everything looks good. The serial, name, quantity of CPUs and all the properties fields are filled out with the appropriate information for my key. The command returns

[200] Command Complete.

Result: Success

but after running vim-cmd vimsvc/license -show, it still shows I have the evaluation key installed. Even after restarting the host, it stills shows that it's licensed under the evaluation key.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this stick?
